Sprinkle or Splash: Theology and Practice of Baptism

Why do we baptize? Who do we baptize? What does the Uniting Church say? What does it mean for a community to welcome a person in baptism? What happens when we never see someone again after their baptism? Is baptism a once and for all?

There are so many questions. Baptism is now a complicated sacrament in a complex world of spirituality, tradition and religion. This evening will explore the Uniting Church theology of baptism and then invite conversation around real examples of the complexity with which this is lived out. Bring your questions and your wonderings. Bring a spirit of grace and wisdom.
