BENEATH THE SOUTHERN CROSS

From the ends of the earth we will sing;
God is here, the Kingdom is near.
Shore to shore across ancient lands.
Christ to dwell, Emmanuel.

From north and south, from east and west,
beneath the Southern Cross we rest.
Found by One who came for all,
in this tale of spacious love we’re born.

From the ends of the earth we will sing;
God is here, the Kingdom is near.
Shore to shore across ancient lands.
Christ to dwell, Emmanuel.

This, the land on which we stand,
this holy ground made by God’s hand,
marred and scarred yet marked by grace,
held and healed, in Christ we find our place.

From the ends of the earth we will sing;
God is here, the Kingdom is near.
Shore to shore across ancient lands.
Christ to dwell, Emmanuel.

God, our hope, our life, our heart,
come break our differences apart.
Strangers once now called as one,
every soul awake to greet this love!

From the ends of the earth we will sing;
God is here, the Kingdom is near.
Shore to shore across ancient lands.
Christ to dwell, Emmanuel.

GOD, THE GREAT MYSTERY

God the great mystery, source of our trust,
ground of our being and shaper of dust,
elusive presence to whom we belong,
heartbeat and rhythm, both singer and song.

Through all this borrowed life we seek your face,
listening with wonder and mapping each trace,
burning bush, still small voice, manna and quail,
all gifts and signs that your love will prevail.

Jesus, the Word, human child and divine,
we are the branches and you are the vine,
speak to us still of this imminent grace,
“I’m in you, you’re in me, here in this place!”

Great Spirit pulsing through heaven and earth,
heart always beating with signs of new birth,
loving us, lifting us, twisting us round,
’til all our songs with compassion resound.

God, take our minds, hearts and souls to your own,
live in us, breathe in us, through us be known,
gather your world in your wondrous embrace
’til all is love, mercy, goodness and grace.

GOD’S LOVE EMBRACES ALL

We know God’s love, encompassing
the height, the breadth, the depths of life;
our praise and thanks we gladly bring
as hearts in wonder sing:
God’s love embraces all!

Love climbs the heights of joy and grace
and gifts us with each sunlit day;
the beauty of each sacred space
brings blessings we may trace:
God’s love embraces all!

Love spans the breadth of faith and fear
where questions dance with mystery,
as wisdom holds us ever near
and sings in accents clear:
God’s love embraces all!

Love sounds the depths of grief and pain
and gathers all who weep and mourn;
this loving presence will remain
and life anew sustain:
God’s love embraces all!

Love permeates this holy ground
and lights a fire of awe within;
love speaks in stillness and in sound
and shares this truth profound:
God’s love embraces all!

We know God’s love, encompassing
the height, the breadth, the depths of life;
our praise and thanks we gladly bring
