Preaching Series
Preaching contextually in complex timesThe Centre for Music, Liturgy and the Arts continues it’s Preaching Series inviting those who preach to join in a series of conversations to develop and strengthen preaching skills. This year it will especially be an opportunity to explore the place preaching has in our current circumstances and into a quickly changing future.
Discussion will focus around current complex issues and preaching in ways that acknowledges the complexity, creates healing and vitality, and speaks of the new, using some of the material from this year’s Festival of Homiletics to guide our discussion.
Each session includes reflection on practice, conversation on a thought-provoking topic and preparation for a sermon two weeks ahead. Dr Tanya Wittwer and Rev Dr Ian Price will facilitate the sessions.
In previous years this series has provided a wonderful avenue for focusing on one of the core responsibilities of ministry in a fruitful, engaging way. It has also been an opportunity to connect with colleagues and is always a lot of fun.
It is open to all preachers – experienced, new, lay and ordained.
