Description
The Centre for Music, Liturgy and the Arts is pleased to introduce the Walk as One songbook as individual songs. While many churches and leaders purchase music books, many wonderful songs in the books lie undiscovered. This initiative provides an affordable way for churches to learn and play new music, with or without musicians.
The “Walk as One” songbook was published in 2022. The Individual Song packs provide a way for all churches, including songbook owners, to listen, learn and sing this excellent collection of songs.
For each song, you receive these digital resources
- A copy of the sheet music score from the “Walk as One” songbook (PDF)
- An audio recording of the song (high quality mp3)
- A plain Powerpoint file (white text on black)
- A colour Powerpoint file (white text on coloured image)
- A lyric video (audio recording with song lyrics)
- A plain text version of the song lyrics (for inserting into presentation software or printed orders)
COME WALK WITH ME
Come walk with me, when life seems old.
Come walk with me when nights grow cold.
I need to know the warmth of human hearts
and see the love of God unfold.
Come sit with me, there’s little hope.
Come sit with me, help me to cope.
I need to hear the words of comforting;
the simple love that Jesus spoke.
I do not know where the pathway leads.
I need a steadying hand.
I am confused, beaten, battle sore.
Stay with me, help me understand.
Come pray with me when I’m in pain.
Come pray with me when griefs remain.
I need the presence of the One who knows
and sees the journey through again.
Come sing with me when days are sweet.
Come sing with me of life complete.
’Til all the world can sing along with us
the song of grace and love and peace.
There may be seasons of sorrowing.
Journeys of joy, slips of pride.
Blessings and brokenness taken up
by the One who walks at our side.
Worship with me the God of grace.
Worship with me in fond embrace.
We know that love endures all, heals us all,
for we have seen the Saviour’s face.

This is a deeply moving and personal prayer for companionship, particularly for those in the later years of life, arising from Sharonne’s work in chaplaincy. You may simply wish to play the recording itself rather than ask people to sing it. It is also suitable as an item sung by a soloist or small group.
Live Streaming and Online Hosting: Sharonne does not currently have a licensing agreement that covers live streaming or hosting. Sharonne is willing to give permission for the online streaming or hosting of this song by churches in worship for no fee at this time.
